दिल्ली के Chandni Chowk से जुड़े करीब डेढ़ करोड़ रुपये की gunpoint robbery case का Central District Police ने खुलासा किया है।
पुलिस ने कार्रवाई करते हुए पांच आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार किया है, जिनमें कथित executors, conspirators और masterminds शामिल हैं।
जांच के दौरान CCTV analysis, technical surveillance और लगातार field investigation के जरिए आरोपियों तक पहुंच बनाई गई।
पुलिस के मुताबिक, करीब एक करोड़ रुपये की cash recovery के साथ motorcycles और robbery के पैसों से खरीदा गया mobile phone भी बरामद हुआ है।
वारदात में victim को धमकाने के लिए pistol-shaped lighter के इस्तेमाल का आरोप है।

With the arrest of five accused persons, a joint team of PS Darya Ganj, Special Staff and AATS, Central District, has worked out a recent cash robbery in which three motorcycle-borne assailants intercepted a TSR and robbed a bag containing approximately ₹1.5 crore at gunpoint. The coordinated investigation resulted in the arrest of five accused persons from Delhi, Haryana and Punjab and the recovery of approximately ₹1 crore of the robbed cash, along with a motorcycle, mobile phone and other articles allegedly purchased from the proceeds of crime. The pistol-shaped lighter allegedly used during the commission of the robbery has also been recovered.
BRIEF OF THE INCIDENT
On 07.09.2026, at about 08:00 PM, the complainant, a payment collector/delivery boy along with one of his colleagues namely Naresh, was going to Safdarjang in a TSR taken from Church Mission T Point for delivering an amount of Rs three crores in two bags carrying 1.5 crore each. The cash belonged to a businessman who has a property-related business.
When the auto-rickshaw reached near Geeta Colony Flyover, Outer Ring Road, three unknown persons riding a black Splendor motorcycle intercepted the auto-rickshaw. Two of the assailants whisked out pistol-like objects and covered each of the two passengers from both sides. At the gun point, they robbed one bag containing the cash approximately ₹1.5 crore. Thereafter, the accused persons fled towards ITO. The matter was reported to police.
Accordingly, FIR No. 329/2026 dated 08.09.2026, U/S 309(4)/309(6)/3(5) BNS [392/397/34 IPC] r/w 27 Arms Act, PS Darya Ganj, was registered on the statement of the complainant and the investigation was taken up.
TEAM AND OPERATION
Considering the gravity of the offence, a joint team of PS Daryaganj, Special Staff and AATS was constituted under the leadership of SHO Daryaganj Insp Ajay Sharma, IC Special Staff Insp. Sandeep Yadav and IC AATS Insp. Sandeep Dabas, comprising SI Arpit, SI Deepak, SI Sumit, ASI Binod, HC Sunil, HC Chunnilal, HC Rohit, HC Khushiram, HC Mahesh, Ct Gaurav, Ct Govind, Ct Vikas, Ct Ajay, Ct Babudhan, Ct Ashokwas constituted under the guidance of ACP/Daryaganj, Sh. Dheeraj Narang and ACP/OPS Sh. Padam Singh Rana, supervision of Sh. Prashant Chaudhary, Addl. DCP Central and overall supervision of Sh. Rohit Rajbir Singh DCP Central with a clear mandate to conduct a focused investigation, identify the offenders and bring them within the ambit of law at the earliest.
The teams were assigned specific tasks, including conducting detailed interrogations of the complainant and other witnesses to identify possible clues, analysing CCTV footage to reconstruct the route of the victims and accused persons, tracking the movements of the accused before and after the commission of the offence, examining the records of criminals involved in similar modus operandi, developing technical and human intelligence, and identifying persons who had conducted reconnaissance of the complainant and monitored the movement of the cash.
The teams immediately swung into action and meticulously examined the place of occurrence. CCTV footage from the area was extensively analyzed to reconstruct the sequence of events and identify the persons involved in the robbery. Simultaneously, intelligence was developed through technical inputs and sustained field enquiries, which provided crucial leads regarding the execution of the robbery and the larger conspiracy behind the offence.
Intense exercise of studying the movement of the complainant/victim to scrutinize any syncing movement of suspects through various available CCTV was done. It took four days of hard work for the scores of dedicated staff to make the dent and develop the clue to crack the case.
Detailed analysis of available intelligence, technical inputs and field enquiries ultimately led to the identification of the accused persons involved in the robbery and conspiracy. The investigation revealed that the robbery was allegedly planned and executed by an organised group of youngsters who were engaged in various types of odd jobs in private companies but all were in need of money. All the members were assigned specific roles in furtherance of the criminal conspiracy and execution of the plan.
ARREST AND INTERROGATION
Following relentless efforts and sustained investigation, the team developed credible information regarding the whereabouts of one of the accused, namely Suraj Pandey. Acting swiftly on the intelligence, the team traced and apprehended him from Anand Vihar Bus Terminal on 12.09.2026, while he was attempting to escape to some remote place in UP.
During sustained interrogation, accused Suraj Pandey disclosed he along with his five associates committed the robbery at gun point. As per his disclosure, the accused persons had identified the victims near T-Point, Old Delhi Railway Station, where the victims were carrying bags containing cash. The target was allegedly identified by the main conspirators Rinku and Deepak, following which the victims were tracked after they boarded the TSR. The plan was to intercept the victims at a relatively secluded location and escape immediately after the robbery.
According to the investigation, on the day of the offence, Sandeep @ Sandy was riding the motorcycle, Suraj Pandey was seated in the middle and Deepak Goswami was riding as the pillion rider. After the robbery, the accused persons re-assembled at a rented room in Nawada, Delhi, where the robbed money was distributed among the members of the group. The accused further disclosed that the resources required for the execution of the plan, including the motorcycle and weapon (including toy pistol), were arranged by Prince. Investigation has also revealed that the group had allegedly attempted to execute the plan on earlier occasions but was unsuccessful.
After his arrest, ₹17 lakh in cash and an Apple iPhone bought with the proceeds, along with other articles, were recovered at his instance.
Based on his disclosure and subsequent technical surveillance, raids were conducted by the teams of PS Daryaganj, Special Staff and AATS in Delhi, Haryana & Punjab.
Accused Adarsh Tiwari and Deepak Goswami were traced and arrested from Nawada, Delhi, on 13.09.2026. At their instance, ₹32.5 lakh in cash and a new motorcycle bought with the proceeds were recovered from their possession.
Accused Sandeep was traced and arrested from Faridabad, Haryana, on 13.09.2026. At his instance, ₹11 lakh in cash was recovered from his possession.
Accused Rinku, the mastermind of the conspiracy, was also arrested from Ludhiana, Punjab, on 13.09.2026 after relentless technical surveillance. During investigation, at his instance, ₹37.5 lakh in cash was recovered from his possession.
Further interrogation revealed that accused Rinku, the mastermind of the conspiracy, was well acquainted with the area from where the substantial cash movement took place. He tasked other members of the group with conducting reconnaissance in and around Chandni Chowk to track the movements of persons suspected of carrying large amounts of cash.
RECOVERY
1. Approximately ₹1 crore of the robbed cash.
2. Clothes and shoes worn by the accused persons at the time of the offence.
3. One motorcycle purchased recently for approximately ₹2.10 lakh, with the proceeds of the robbery.
4. One mobile phone purchased recently with the proceeds of robbery.
5. One pistol shaped toy used in the commission of crime.
PREVIOUS INVOLVEMENTS
Sandeep @ Sandy has reportedly remained incarcerated in Haryana in connection with a POCSO case.
PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS
1. Rinku, aged 27 years, R/o Ludhiana, Punjab
Education: B.Com
Occupation: Used to work as an accountant in a shop at Karol Bagh.
Role: (Conspirator) He is the main conspirator. Three years ago, he used to bring/deliver cash as per the directions of his employer. During a Rapido ride by one of the co-accused, Adarsh, he came into contact with Prince, who was desperately looking for quick money. Prince started visiting the room which Rinku, Adarsh and Deepak were sharing.
2. Adarsh Tiwari, aged about 22 years, R/o Najafgarh, Delhi.
Education: B.Com & B.Ed
Occupation: Earlier used to run a tuition centre in Najafgarh.
Role: (Conspirator) He is one of the main conspirators. He was seen at the place from where the complainant boarded the TSR and was moving in close proximity to him.
3. Deepak Goswami, aged about 25 years, R/o Hanumangarh, Rajasthan.
Education: 12th
Occupation: Private job
Role: (Executor) Last pillion rider on the motorcycle and displayed what appeared to be a pistol before taking away the cash bag. During investigation, the object used by him was found to be a pistol-shaped lighter. He used to work at a mobile shop in Karol Bagh with main accused Rinku.
4. Suraj Pandey, Age-20 years, R/o Faridabad, Haryana.
Education: 9th pass
Occupation: Rapido Rider and private job in a private company in Faridabad
Role: (Executor) Suraj Pandey occupied the middle position on the motorcycle and also displayed the pistol during the commission of the robbery. He has been in touch with Prince and Sandeep @ Sandy as they live in the same vicinity in Faridabad.
5. Sandeep @ Sandy, age: (21) years, R/o Faridabad, Haryana.
Education: 12th pass
Occupation: Rider in Blinkit/Zepto
Role: (Executor) He rode the motorcycle during the commission of the robbery.
6. Prince (absconding), age (26) years, R/o Faridabad, Haryana.
Education: 12th pass
Occupation: Rider in Blinkit/Zepto/Rapido
Role: (Conspirator and resource person) He acted as a conspirator and conducted reconnaissance of the area before the robbery. His motorcycle bearing registration No. DL-3S-JE-** was used in the commission of the offence.
FURTHER INVESTIGATION
Further investigation is in progress. Sustained efforts are being made to apprehend the absconding accused, trace the remaining robbed cash and identify any other persons who may have facilitated or benefited from the offence.
